Thursday
we flew into Tembucu, Chile. While in
the Santiago airport waiting for our flight we found a cinnabon. For some reason sitting on the floor in the
airport with my cute family devouring cinnabons made my heart happy. Everyone was happy and excited and they
tasted so good. We finally got on our
flight. The kids did great. People were so kind and switched places with
us so we didn’t have to leave any children unattended. Right before landing Lucas claimed he was
going to pee his pants. We had to keep
distracting him until the plane landed and then rush him to the airplane
bathroom while we were getting off to avoid pee pee pants. We got our stuff, a rental car and headed on
our way.
. We drove to our hotel and let me just
say…WOW! My heart felt super excited that
we get to stay here for a few days. It
is a cabin just right outside the town of Pucon. It has three bedrooms, 5 beds, two bathrooms,
a kitchen and a living room. The best
thing about it though is the view. It
overlooks Lake and it is absolutely beautiful. The kids were so excited they couldn’t
contain themselves. They rushed in and
claimed beds, unpacked belongings and got to playing. We had to leave to go eat lunch and Madeline
started crying because we just got here and she wasn’t ready to leave. We convinced her it would be okay and I
promised to make dandelion crowns when we got back. She was okay with that.
. We drove into Pucon and ate at a German
restaurant. It was good, not great, but
good. We left there and went and got
some food to make at the cabin. During
lunch the kids were so excited about this little dog that kept lingering
around. We got groceries and headed back
to the cabin.
. When we got back we all sat outside on the
grass picking dandelions. We made crowns
and took pictures. It reminded me of
when I was a little girl. We used to sit
around in tabiona making crowns and curling stems in the water.
We
came in and made pizza and popcorn and watched the croods. After the movie we went outside on the porch
to look at the stars. Oh, how I Love the
stars. I don’t take nearly enough time
anymore to look at them. I took some
pictures of Jimmy and the kids and then the tired bug started to bite and we
had to put some grumpy kids to bed.
Madeline
insisted on sleeping on the top bunk. I
kind of wondered what would happen in the middle of the night when she woke
up. I thought for sure she would forget
that she was on a bunk bed, but instead she just jumped off onto her
brother. Ha, oh well. I didn’t sleep much between her and Jonas
sandwiching me in my bed.
