Jonas 9 months

Jonas at 9 months.
What a sweetie!  He is crawling and standing and manuevering pretty much wherever he wants to go.   He is very determined and VERY sweet.  He smiles so effortlessly.  He is eating everything but baby food.  He absolutely refuses to eat anything of baby food consistency, including mashed potatoes.  He loves to use a sippy cup.  He is still an awesome sleeper.  He is so content to go to sleep and very cheerful when he wakes up.  He has 5 teeth and a few more working their way through. He still has a reddish tint to his hair.  We love this little boy!

Bellows with the Harkers, Carliles, Mouritsens

**WARNING VERY DIRTY CHILDREN**

We went camping at Bellows with our wonderful friends the Harker's, the Mouritsen's and the Carlile's.  It was so much fun and I am pretty convinced that for our children there are few things as exciting as getting to go camping with friends.  They anticipated it and LOVED every second of it.

We played and had arts and crafts and GOOD food.  We roasted marshmallows, made smores, played with finger lights and helicopters.  It was ENDLESS fun and WONDERFUL company!

My little man Jonas.  This was his first experience camping and he got dirty, dirty, dirty.
This was when he was just getting his teeth and would pull some pretty funny grins.

I think he reached his maximum dirty point.

These kids love each other and can't get enough of each other.
It's so stinkin' cute.
Lucas, Dana, Madeline, Mason, Noah

**Note:  Jason, Erin, and Leonie were on this trip...somehow we missed them in every picture opportunity so I do not have any proof of it.  It was their first camping trip as a married couple.

more dirty faces...

Okay, so maybe they didn't love EVERY second of it.
Lucas had a point where he had a little break down and I took this picture.
I felt mean at the time when I took it but he's just so cute and I wanted to remember what he looks like when he gets like this...but looking at it now I feel so bad because he looks so SAD!

Silly faces!

Busy painting their camp buckets.

Man, I love these little faces!

Hanging out at the beach.
We had so much fun at the beach with our group.
The best way to do the beach is with other friends who have kids.
We all got to have LOTS of fun!

Hunter headed out to catch some waves.

Such a FUN trip!  Such FUN memories!

Three Tables at night & Bye to Grandma Terri

Beautiful huh?  I really LOVE the beach at night.  I love the colors and the calm.
This particular night we went with Grandma to Three Tables.  Grandma brought some fun toys that the kids wanted to try out.  Finger lights and light up helicopters.  We had so much fun
playing and laughing. There's just something about grandparents visiting that makes everything that much sweeter and more fun.

My battery died right after we got there so I missed the opportunity to take pictures of the kids playing with the lights. They loved it and I will have to rely on my memory to see their faces loving it.  Who knew little lights on your fingers could be so magical?!

It's always so sad when those we love have to go home.  We loved every second that my mom was with us.  We miss her and wish she were closer.  We always look forward to her visits.
They love their Grandma Terri.

Honolulu Zoo August 2012

What would my set of monthly posts be without a post about the zoo.
We have probably visited this zoo at least 100 times or more in a 4 year period.
Madeline and Lucas have the layout of the zoo memorized and they love it just
as much every single time.   This trip we took Grandma Terri and our friends
Erin and Leonie Mouritsen.

I love these trees.  For some reason I think they are rubber trees but I could be totally wrong. Whatever they are they are incredibly COOL.

Playing on the hippos.
Cute little Leonie.  I would adopt her.  She is that cute.

Forget the real animals...they can climb on cement hippos, metal elephants, and plaster giraffes.  Ha, I don't know if that is what they are all really made out of...but this trip that seems to be what we have pictures of....no living, breathing animals in sight.  Ha.

The zoo ALWAYS wears us out.

Shave Ice & the Beach

We have made so many wonderful friends in Hawaii.
Some are local, some are military, and some are just here for a short time for work.
The Harkers are one of those here for a short time people but in that short time they won our hearts BIG time.  While my mom was visiting we spent a day with Morgan, Noah, and Kyro at Three Tables Beach and then headed over to Aoki's for some shaved ice.

This picture makes me laugh.  My mom looks like a hippy. Tee hee.

Hale Koa Luau Aug 2012

We went to the Luau at the Hale Koa.  It is the military hotel on located on Waikiki.
It was so much fun.  We have been to a lot of them all over the island and they are always so different and so entertaining.

The kids had a little bit of a hard time sitting still so they took little breaks
to run out on the squishy grass.

After the Luau we walked along Waikiki in the dark. I don't know why, but I REALLY like the beach at night.  The kids really loved it too.  Give them some sand and it will only take seconds before they are rolling in it, or in this case making sand angels.

Such a fun night!
