Madeline's 1st Birthday!!
Madeline turned one on May 23rd.
We still can't believe that our baby is no longer
a baby.
She had such a fun day. It started out with a
package from Grandma Terri.
Madeline was so excited to pull Teddy out of
the jar. She loves stuffed animals, so needless
to say she was excited to see Teddy.
We didn't really have a theme like a lot of people do
for first birthdays and other birthdays. I had a hard time
finding what I wanted so at the last minute I decided to
make her a hula bear cake.
I think it turned out so cute.
We were lucky enough to have family in town
to celebrate with us.
Grandma Becky and Grandpa Larry were there...
Aunt Nat even made an appearance...
We ate lots of pizza...
opened lots and lots of presents...
Daddy got carried away with all of the excitement...
He couldn't wait to try out Madeline's new
swimming pool...
and of course there was cake...
I thought for sure Madeline would dive right in and
get super messy but she was so dainty and
clean about the whole thing.
The only reason she really got messy at all was
because Nat helped her out a little bit.
What's a party without a little
cake on your face, right?
Happy Birthday sweet girl. We love you.
At one year Madeline is doing the following:
Running around the house. She is constantly
on the go. This girl doesn't stop for anything.
She has 8 teeth and four molars coming in.
She loves animals. She loves to cuddle with
them and give them pats on the back
and kisses on the nose.
Recently her favorites are the puppies and
birds of any kind.
Her way of falling asleep has gotten funny.
She loves to roll around for a LOOONG time
all over the bed before she falls asleep.
She loves to play games. Especially games
that involve putting lids on things or putting things
in things.
She is a climber. She will attempt to climb just
about anything.
She still loves books.
She still loves to dance.
She is getting really good at imitating us.
She's a good eater....most of the time.
She is still a water baby. She loves the sand and the ocean.
Even more, she loves to drink water out
of the dogs water bowl.
She is obsessed with her bellybutton and
the ones belonging to anyone else. She will come and
lift up your shirt to make sure you have one...no matter
where you might be.
She loves to blow raspberries on mommy's tummy, arm,
neck and pretty much anywhere she can.
She loves to give kisses and hugs. She is pretty
aggressive about her kisses. She wants to plant a big
slobbery one right on your mouth and if you try to dodge it
she will keep trying until she gets you.
She is as curious as ever. It amazes me how
smart she is and how quickly she learns and remembers things.
She loves to wave and will wave at anyone and
everyone.
She weighs 18lbs 8 oz. and is 30 inches tall.
She's a skinny minny and tall.
She is so much fun and we love watching her grow
and discover new things.
Happy Birthday big girl!
Rick
Our friend Rick has been living with us for a few months and he just got transferred to Washington D.C. We have really enjoyed having him and are going to miss his face around our house. Madeline and the puppies have really gotten attached and are going to miss him spoiling them. For some reason I can't find pictures...I will look harder and add them later.

Family Pictures in Hawaii
As many of you know I have an extremely talented
little sister and not only that, but I am lucky
to have her staying with me.
Needless to say I can take full advantage of
her creativity.
Natalie took us out for some family pictures and
I think they turned out absolutely
beautiful.
Just a little note for those of you who live here
and want pictures taken, she is doing a
special so check out her blogspot and
contact her if you are interested.
