Water Baby
We have a water baby on our hands.
She recently discovered the water faucet in
our backyard. This girl could
splash in the water for hours. The dogs
love it and get in on the action too.
I think she has tried to copy the puppies
when the stick their heads under to get a drink.
It's so funny to watch.
I have to say that as a mom it is so fun to watch
her discover new things. She gets so excited about the
simplest things and I can't get enough of it.
I love watching her squeal with delight.
Waimea Bay
One of our new favorite spots on the island is
Waimea Bay.
The sand is so soft and the water is so clear and calm
(right now anyway!)
all up in her cracks and crevices and just smiles
about it. She also loves the water and went in pretty
deep with Daddy for the first time.
We went back out to Waimea yesterday and had so much fun
snorkeling. The water is so clear you can see all the way
to the bottom. Me and Nat went out one morning
and there was a turtle swimming nearby.
It's just such a beautiful place.
We also went snorkeling at Shark's Cove.
When the tide is out the water is pretty shallow
with some deep spots and lots and lots of fish.
It's super rocky with a lot of coral so
if you swim out next to the coral you can
see all sorts of creepy critters.
The creepiest for me was these long stick looking fish.
Jimmy kept swimming closer and closer to them
and I thought it was kinda freaky.
There were some little girls playing with the
sea cucumbers. They loaded them on the boogie boards
and carted them around the lagoons. They were
pretty disgusting.
We saw some really neat fish
and a shark....go figure in shark's cove.
It was a small one but still, a shark! It
swam about a foot away from Nat's leg.
Have I mentioned how much we are loving Hawaii?
We sure are!
Silly Girl
The other day Madeline was sitting on the kitchen
counter while I finished up a few things.
(she was supervised)
Anyway, there's a platter of fruit and stuff on our counter
and before we knew it she started grabbing things
and eating them.
and a tomato.
Sea Life Park
We went to Hawaii's version of Sea World a
couple weeks ago.
Madeline loved the aquarium. She loved to see
the fish swim by and would point and
squeal at them.
We got to see some fun dolphin shows
while we were there.
It was a good day.
Haunama Bay
Jimmy didn't have PT one morning so we (Missy, Jimmy,
Nat, and Madeline)
decided to wake up at 4 and go
snorkeling.
It was so fun! Snorkeling at 6 a.m. in Hanauma
Bay is awesome! I have to say that early in the
morning is probably the best time to go there.
It was so still and calm and the
beach was empty, minus the regulars
who do their morning aerobics in the
water. It was so fun.
tired but once she saw the sand and water
she was super excited.
Sunset at "Turtle" Beach
We finally saw our first sunset on
the beach. We headed
out to show Nat the turtles and decided
to stick around to see it.
It was beautiful.
Fun with Audrey and Jason
Audrey and Jason kicked off the
visiting season at the
Isakson house.
We had such a fun time with them
and can't wait for them to say they're coming back.
They brought out our goofy side...
We followed them to Hanauma Bay
Madeline played in the ocean and ate the sand...
We did so much while they were here and loved
hearing about their adventures. Something magical
happened over their stay, my drawers and cabinets started
sprouting $5 bills. It was fabulous.
Come back and see us soon!
Diamond Head
We woke up early one morning and decided to
hike Diamond Head in Honolulu.
Jimmy strapped Madeline to his chest
and off we went.
Madeline loved hanging there. She
really had the easy way up. She took her
tigger with her and held onto him for the
entire hike.
There were tunnels and stairs and winding stairs.
It was a beautiful day for the hike but this one was
really really crowded.
The view from the top was beautiful.
This was the first hike with the Bjorn and
I give it 4 stars. (Even though I didn't carry her)
She was so comfortable she fell asleep on the way down!)
