Waianae

We spent the day at the Army beach in Waianae.

It was nice.  The kids had a great time and the water was perfect.

They were playing in the waves crashing on the sand and Madeline was laughing super hard. 

I love to see that little face smile like that.  

Lucas was loving the sand on the particular beach trip.

He was covered from head to toe. 

We love the beautiful beaches of Hawaii!

Hiking

We decided one morning to do the Makapuu Lighthouse hike. 

We have done this hike several times. 

It's pretty easy, paved the whole way and we can take our dogs.

It also has BEAUTIFUL views from the top.

We had a lot of fun...and some of our group got really tired....

We really love spending our mornings playing at the park. 

Madeline and Lucas are big fans of the slides. 

Madeline dressed herself on this particuar day...she's also wearing sunday shoes and socks.

Valentine's Day 2012

I LOVE holidays!

This year for Valentine's Day we decided to celebrate as a family.

The day started off with a fun breakfast.

Madeline especially gets excited about this kind of stuff, so that makes it extra fun for me.

This is what they woke up to...

I made strawberry stuffed french toast, eggs and sausage.  Of course pink milk to wash it down.

That night we had a special dinner. 

I made steak (I used the Pioneer Woman's method and it was super delicious...seriously, try it.)

Pasta and roasted asparagus. 
We also had an appetizer, spinach artichoke dip and a toasted baguette. 

It was really fun.  We ate by candlelight and the kids had a great time. 

I tried to make chocolate bowls but they kind of melted so we just ate ice cream. 

It was a wonderful day spent with the ones I love most.   

joys of potty training

We have been working with Lucas to get him potty trained. 

He has had a lot of successes and is really excited about it. 

Madeline is really excited about it too, she cheers him on and offers to help him frequently...

sometimes too much. 

Ha, the other day she tried to help him go poop in the potty...

This is what we ended up with....

I don't like poop. 

It grosses me out. 

This really grossed me out. 

I took a picture because I was so incredibly grossed out and it helped me find humor in it. 

She was only trying to help him.

The other day Madeline helped him sit on the potty and then she went and got her chair and a book to read to him while they waited for him to have a success. 

I thought that was pretty darn cute.   



We are so blessed. 

Shots

Our little drama queen.

Madeline got some shots and those shots made her arms and legs not work for a few hours.

Ha, she sat on the couch just like this and claimed she couldn't move. 

It made me laugh.

Preschool Fun

We have been having fun doing preschool at our house. 

Madeline loves face painting so we've been doing a little bit of that...

We had a week where we talked about the letter G for garden. 

Madeline and Lucas planted some flowers for our windowsill. 

Afterwards, we made and ate dirt dessert... 

Madeline painted a flower picture... 

We are excited to start preschool again in the fall with Madeline's new friend Mason.
