We have come to be big fans of this holiday. A nice three (or four) day weekend and absolutely nothing that we have to do. I can proudly say that we have spent the majority of the weekend in our pajamas and have loved every minute of it. We decided to stick around and be extra lazy while allowing plenty of time for Jimmy to study. Our lives now consist of flying, studying, classes, studying, occasional breaks for bathroom and eating, and more studying and then sleep. Why do we have labor day? What is the purpose of it....really? I'm glad you asked(here comes me pretending to be super knowledgeable.)
....Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
So, to celebrate the social and economic achievements that we and all of our fellow American workers have made we went to the local Enterprise High School season opener football game. Jimmy and I learned a most valuable lesson. If you ever go to a football game in Alabama and it looks even slightly overcast bring a poncho, or an umbrella or some sort of water repellent item or you will be soaked, drenched, dripping. We were soaked before the game even started. It was pouring buckets and then came the thunder and lightning. I'm talking about thunder that shakes the lampshades and lightning that lights up the entire sky and makes it feel like the middle of the day when it's really the middle of the night...okay maybe a little exaggeration on the lightning but seriously the lampshades shake! They ended up pausing the game because of rain but then started again. Enterprise won and we had a drippingly wonderful time.
