Pictures

Jimmy sent a few pictures
My incredibly handsome Jimmy.

I felt nervous about having pictures of where he is on
here, even though it is private you never know.
So...I probably won't be putting anymore on the blog.
Jimmy is doing really well. He said that the only really
bad part about it is that we aren't there with him. He said if
we could come live in his tent it would be fun. Madeline
would have a great time in all of the dirt.

football, fishies, and a girl's best friend...

I forgot to post these pictures from before
Jimmy left.
My husband being the sports nut that he is,
loves high school football games. (I do too)
We went to one of the local
games the weekend before Jimmy had to go.
It was fun, Madeline was crazy with excitement,
and it rained. We couldn't stay for the whole thing but
we still had a good time and stopped for slurpees
on the way home.
Two of Jimmy's favorite things, all in one day.
Madeline loves it when her daddy goes spearfishing.
She thinks that fish are the neatest thing, and
loves to open up the cooler and look at them
and touch them. eeew.
Jimmy told her to kiss this fish, of course
she did! Take a close look, it's
disgusting.
Madeline loves her puppies.
I'm pretty convinced she thinks they are her
siblings. She plays with them non-stop and
is constantly talking to them or trying to be like them,
or pestering and laughing at them.
Ashes always sits on the back of the couch and Madeline
decided she wanted to sit there with her.
I love the look on her face in this picture,
pure happiness.

Jimmy has safely arrived at his first destination. He called this morning and sounds good but tired. He still hasn't had a chance to get over his jet lag. He had to stand in line for almost an hour to call us so we probably won't hear from him too often while he is there. Communication will hopefully get much better once he arrives at his next destination. It's amazing what hearing his voice can do to get me through the day so I am looking forward to more communication. Just a little update.

Love you Jimmy.

Jimmy

Jimmy left for his deployment on Tuesday morning. I will try to post things periodically to let everyone know how he is doing but I probably won't include a lot of details for safety sake. If at anytime you want to know more just e-mail me or call me and I will fill you in as much as I can. He called me yesterday morning and we got to talk for a few minutes. It was good to hear from him and now I am anxiously but patiently waiting for the next call.

We went up to the hangar on Wheeler and said our goodbyes. I keep telling myself that we have had a lot of time to anticipate this and that we are ready to get it going and over with but I'm not sure if ready is the right word. He's has only been gone for two days and from day one I have felt like half of me is missing. I know we'll get through it and he will be fine but we are just going to take it a day at a time.

Madeline is still too little to really understand what is going on but I know she knows he's missing. Yesterday she cried until I took our family picture off of the wall so that she could kiss daddy's face. We also ordered her a daddy doll that has a picture of Jimmy on it and she hugs and kisses that all day long.

I am so proud of my Jimmy. He is so good. I think the military needs good righetous leaders and Jimmy is one of those. I am so proud of him for always doing his duty without complaint. He will never complain about anything that is required of him. He takes everything in stride and does his best at everything he does. His goodness and strength amaze me and I know that Heavenly Father will protect him and use him as a tool for good.

We love and miss you Jimmy! Thanks to everyone for your prayers and love and support. We truly appreciate all of you and your thoughtfulness on our behalf.

(I have pictures from when he left that I will post as soon as I get them downloaded)

Oh Madeline

Madeline has been going through a "puppy phase" for the past month or so. She insists...really, she insists on wearing the dog collars and then she runs around the house acting like a puppy. Panting with her tongue out and all. She sure does keep us entertained. It cracks me up when I think about all of the funny things she does, this kid has a big personality.

We just finished watching the Utes win their first game. GO UTES! Jimmy was happy to catch at least one game before he leaves. again...GO UTES!!!
