Thanksgiving 2011

We had a fun Thanksgiving this year.
Madeline and Lucas got ready for the big day by making fun crafts like these milk carton turkeys.

This year I made up some thankful turkey bags for each member of our family.  They were a lot of fun and I think they might make an appearance every year.  Inside each bag we put things that we are thankful for about each person.  I really liked writing them. It made me really appreciate my little family.
Thanksgiving morning was kind of a lazy affair. The kidlets hung around in their jammies while I cooked our dinner and daddy went and played football.

I can't remember exactly why she is so "sad" in this picture....
The turkey headbands made it out for another year.

Baby Jonas on his first Thanksgiving.  He looks so happy.  ha ha.
I love this picture because it reminds me so much of my Grandpa and Grandma White.  I have spent countless Thanksgivings at my grandparents house and my Grandma ALWAYS made this jell-o and my Grandpa ALWAYS stuck his fingers in everything before it was time to eat.  Good memories.
Oreo turkeys.  Madeline helped me make them.
It was just us for Thanksgiving and we had enough food for a crowd.  I brined a turkey, we had mashed potatoes and gravy, jell-o, homemade stuffing, homemade rolls, and pie.
The sad thing about our dinner was that I spent all morning making it and when it was done we only had about ten minutes to enjoy it.  Jimmy had to go serve the soldiers at the DFAC so we ate really fast and loaded up in the car and headed over there.  At least we were together.  We came home and enjoyed a little bit of this....
I am so thankful for my beautiful family.  We have been so blessed. We are so thankful that this year we are together.  In the Army you never really know when you will be apart on holidays and it has made me feel so grateful for the holidays that we are together.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Paradise Cove Luau Nov 2011

In November, we went to the Paradise Cove Luau at Ko'Olina with Jimmy's Batallion before they deployed in December. It was a lot of fun.  Madeline and Lucas loved it.  Jonas was just two weeks old so we kept him all snuggled up for the event.

We were sitting at these lovely tables and Jimmy took Madeline to the bathroom and while he was gone the sprinklers went off right under my feet. Good thing I had my baby in my arms and not in the carseat!  He would have been drenched!  It was an exciting way to start off the evening.
 Handsome Lucas
 Beautiful Madeline
While we have been in Hawaii our kids have had their fill of Filipino food and Hawaiian food.  They love it all.  Especially the yummy treats and the noodles.  YUM!
Madeline and Daddy slow dancing.
 mmmmm....FOOD!

By the end of the night my boys were tuckered out.
We will definitely miss outings like this when we have to leave beautiful Hawaii.
