Sayings

I am so behind on our blog. One day I will get it caught up. In the meantime I wanted to remember a few things Madeline has been saying.

She will commonly refer to daddy as Jimmy, Sweetie, Honey, or Baby. It makes me laugh because she hears me call him those things and assumes that what everyone calls him. My favorite is when she yells for him to get her something and says, "Hey Baby...."

She has been known to refer to me as Hot Mommy Missy (thanks Jimmy), and the above Sweetie or Baby.

The other day I was getting her some ice cream and she said this to me:
"My daddy has huge muscles. Mommy, they are really big. He can get the ice cream and scoop it up even though it's really hard. His muscles are big."
I loved how she told me it was an expression of complete awe and adoration for her daddy.

I wasn't feeling well and Lucas was asleep so I asked Madeline if it would be okay if we turned on a movie so I could lay down for a while. This was her response:
"Yes, but you have to lay on the couch. We turn on a movie and eat the round chips and you can lay on a pillow and we will watch Madagascar and you can relax."
My thoughts exactly.

At night she rambles and talks and talks and I love it...I love to hear all of her little ideas come out. They are so random and cute.

Madeline & Ezra

Most of Madeline's friends here are little boys
and let me tell you...
she LOVES them!
One of her FAVORITES is Ezra.
She is constantly asking if we can play with Ezra or if
Ezra is coming over or well, you know how it goes.
They have so much fun together.

Lucas 11 Months

Lucas is growing up.
At 11 months he started out going back and forth between the furniture
standing up and holding on and two weeks before his first birthday
he took his first steps and started WALKING!
He has 8 teeth and eats just about everything.
His favorite foods currently are:
green beans (straight out of the can), mandarin oranges,
chex (with daddy), and yogurt.
He is slowly getting used to the idea of a sippy cup and he loves
regular milk. He loves to drink water out of cups or from a
straw. He loves his blankets. He loves to snuggle up in them
and will pull them onto the floor and throw himself on top of them.
He loves Madeline's room and her toys. Every chance he gets he goes in
and makes his presence known. He loves the puppies and will pat them frequently
throughout the day. He loves Madeline and constantly wants to tag-a-long with her
and her adventures. He loves to have his teeth brushed, especially
if Madeline is doing the brushing. He still sleeps really well and goes down
super easy. He says mama and dada although I'm not sure if
it's not just baby babblings. He loves to play outside. He has the sweetest temperment
and is just so loveable. It has been so fun to see his little personality
come out. He is so playful and loves to be chased. He loves to try and do
things that he knows are naughty but will first look to make sure we
are watching. We have now installed locks on every cupboard and door.
He loves to take all of the pots and pans out and bang on them. He also loves to walk
around with wooden spoons while banging on the walls and cabinets.
We love you little boy! You are such a joy and we feel so blessed to have
you in our family.

New Year's Eve 2011

I really love holidays. My mom always made
them fun for us growing up and I hope I can do the same
for my kids. We started New Year's Eve off with
some shaved ice as big or bigger than Madeline's head.
Hawaii goes nuts with the fireworks on New Year's Eve.
Around our house they started at about 4 or so.
Our neighbors probably spend hundreds on them so we
reap the benefits of an awesome fireworks show every year.
Madeline however is not a fan of fireworks, they are a bit too loud for her.
So we did a few
sparklers and then headed inside.

We played some SingStar.
Madeline is a natural karaoke star, complete with
the dance moves.

And of course, more fireworks.....
miraculously the kids slept through them...they were shake the
house loud and constant!
It was AWESOME!
Happy 2011!

Sweet Little Lucas

Lucas is such a sweetheart. He is growing too fast!
It has been so fun to watch his little personality come out.
He is so sweet and cuddly. He loves to be involved, especially if
it means he can be doing something with his sister. He is so happy and mellow
and just SWEET.

Out to Breakfast

We woke up and decided to something that we NEVER do.
Go out to breakfast.
Jimmy isn't a big breakfast fan and let's face it...
dining out is hardly relaxing with two little ones.
We decided on a whim to just go. We even let the kids
stay in their pajamas.

It was fun and Denny's is pretty kid friendly.

Honolulu Lights Trolley

A few days after Christmas we decided to take the
kids on the Honolulu Lights Trolley.
It was a lot of fun. Madeline LOVES trolleys and even
better was seeing Christmas lights and hearing Christmas music
after Christmas had already passed.
We all had a great time just being together.

Random Pictures

I love to look back at random pictures we have
taken to find images like this...

and...

Madeline was upset about something that wasn't
going her way and when I tried to help those were the faces I got.
Priceless. ha ha.
Mr. Lucas man feeling a bit tired..

Love those baby blues...

Another one of Madeline's magical faces.
She cracks me up.
This is her mischevious I am going to get you face.
