nonsense

Whoa, thought I turned this one....
aren't they adorable??
Madeline wanted to take some pictures so
we pulled faces and snapped away....

I said stick out your tongue and she tried
to lick me instead...silly girl.

bird feeder

We made bird feeders with Madeline's little friend Ezra.
I have to get a picture from Maile of the two of them
together. It was such a great idea (thanks Maile!).
Madeline had so much fun painting it and even more
fun hanging it in the backyard and
watching the birds enjoy it.

See those awesome perches? They
came at the price of part of my fingertip and
a tetnus shot. Those birds better appreciate it!

Animals

Madeline LOVES animals.
I think she gets this from her daddy.
She talks about the zoo on a daily
basis and about each
individual animal.
On walks she yells into the rocks walls for
for the sizards (lizards) to wake up
because we saw one once and they must
be asleep because we haven't seen one since.
She looks into each drain in the curbside for
the kitten because we saw and fed one once in a drain
and it must be in there.

She tells me she sees the orange kitten daily. The orange kitten
that doesn't exist. I asked her once if she saw the orange kitten which
turned out to not be a kitten at all, my eyes were playing tricks
on me...but she was so excited about it so I didn't tell her that
I am just blind.
We go to the pet store almost weekly because
she asks me if we can. While there, she goes nuts and LOVES
every little critter in the store....
So..
I bought her some little anmials to play with
and she has loved them.
She had me take a picture of a few of them.
I only had one shot to get it right, no double takes....

She has played with them non-stop and has even
shared them with Lucas and Mommy....

growing fast

Lucas is just over 4 months and it seems like
he is growing so fast...way too fast if you ask me.
I keep wondering what happened to my little baby!
He is so happy all of the time.
I am in love with his giant gummy open mouth
smiles. I really can't get enough of them.

Loving this little boy.
Wishing he would stay this little for
a bit longer.

4th of july

Happy Independence Day!
I am happy to say that this will be the
LAST holiday without Jimmy!
YAHOOO!
We are anxiously counting down days now.

This fourth of July was a little odd for us.
Holidays have always been really big in my family
and we go all out with food and fun.
Yesterday we had a ward party that was loads
of fun. Madeline played in the water, ran around
with squirt guns, got rained on and kept on playing,
played with a little bunny rabbit...even gave it hugs and kisses.
We ate good food and had good company and considered that
our 4th of July celebration for this year.
I feel like a bum because I didn't do anything today...
except dress our family up in patriotic colors for church....
oh well.
I am so truly grateful for my all who serve in the armed
forces and for their dedication and service. I am thankful for the
sacrifices you make and for the sacrifices that your families make.
It makes me sad at times to see how much freedom is taken for granted, but
on the other hand it makes me proud to see how much it is valued and proud to
be associated with people who sacrifice so much to defend it.
I am especially grateful for my amazing husband.
Deployments are hard on both ends and I am thankful to have
a husband who goes out of his way to make things easier on us.
We are so proud of you honey and for all that you do to serve
your country and your family.
We are thankful for the sacrifices you have made and
can't wait to have you HOME so you can kiss
these little faces.....

We love you! Happy 4th of July!!

Rag curlers

I remember as a little girl my mom putting rag curlers in my hair and I have been wanting to try in on Madeline. It was fun, but I think I did it wrong. When I took them out this morning her hair was a kinky afro. ha ha. I ended up curling it with the curling iron. Oh well, made for some cute pictures anyway.

p.s. she is sunburnt and I swear I put sunscreen on her...I am a maniac about it.
I however failed to remember to reapply it after she played in the pool yesterday....bad mommy.

Lucas 4 Months

Lucas is 4 months old! He is growing like crazy
and I am serious about that.

This little boy weighs 16lbs 9 ounces! Whoa!
He is also 25 3/4 inches long.
He is currently wearing 6-9 month clothes!

He has the prettiest most sparkly blue eyes.
They melt my heart daily.
This little guy is seriously the biggest sweetheart.
He is the EASIEST baby!
He goes to bed at night like a dream and sleeps for over 8
hours. He is rarely fussy and when he is it's because he
usually wants me to put him down so he
can fall asleep. He loves to be held and
talked to. He also loves his floor time and loves
to kick his legs and wiggle his arms.
He's super close to rolling over but not quite there.
He LOVES bathtime, especially with Madeline.
He loves puppy kisses.
He has started to laugh.
He is all smiles pretty much all the time.
He loves to have a blanket to rub all over his face when
he is trying to sleep.
He has started to laugh and has become more vocal.

He's always so happy and such a tender little guy.

I am loving this baby boy to pieces. I can't believe how
big he is getting. It's so fun to watch him grow.
He is getting cuter by the day!

Sibling Love

Madeline and Lucas sure do love each other.
It has been so fun to watch them together.
I especially like how lately Madeline will ask him questions
like, "do you see that baby lucas?" or "do you want some
baby lucas?" or "are you okay baby lucas?"
She also always wants to lay by him on the
couch and she ALWAYS very carefully
covers him up with a blanket.
She's always so willing to stick his binki
back in his mouth, even when he doesn't
want it. She gives him good morning hugs and kisses
and more hugs and kisses throughout the day.
She tells me repeatedly how much she loves him.
Lucas eats up the attention she gives him and is
all smiles, especially when she is talking to him.
You can tell that he adores her.
I tried to get some pictures of them together.
It took a few for Lucas to like the idea.
Sure love these kiddos.
I think they are just about the cutest
things in the world.

Ah, there we go!

Feeding the Ducks

A friend of mine told me about
feeding the ducks at Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens
in Kaneohe. Wow! What a great place to go!
It's beautiful there and it's FREE.
We went and it ended up raining but Madeline was so
excited about feeding the ducks that I couldn't
disappoint her so we trudged through the rain
and it was so much fun.
We fed tons and tons of ducks.

Madeline taking a picture of the ducks.

She loved to hide the bread from them. She also loved
taking a little piece of bread for herself here and there.

We really had so much fun. She got so exicted
and the more she fed the ducks the more they would
follow her around.
We will be spending many mornings here in the future.
It's soooo beautiful!!!
