Last Hope...

Today a bunch of girls from post got together and we went out to lunch. It was so fun and so nice to just be with a bunch of girls. That sort of thing just doesn't seem to happen that much. Anyway, I ate buffalo wings. They were super yummy and the company was great....but no sooner did I walk in the door at home and everything came up. This is getting ridiculous. I just spent 10 bucks on those buffalo wings and they didn't even last an hour. I guess I could look at the bright side and say I got to taste them twice. (ha, sorry that was gross...by the way note to self don't eat spicy food if it's likely to come back up...not pleasant). This is happening on a regular basis.

So here it is...my doctor doesn't want to put me on medication until it is absolutely necessary (if I don't gain weight etc) which I totally agree with...but my question is has anyone ever tried anything that helped a ton? I have tried a lot of things including lemon drops, lemonade, sprite, eat bland meals, blah blah blah....so this is my last hope....any suggestions? Probably nothing I haven't tried...I just had to ask.

I think I'll go read a book.

And the winner is...

Jimmy found out today that he will be flying the Chinook! Yahoo! It's the aircraft that he wanted so we're pretty excited about it. Here it is in all of it's glory. It's as big as it looks...I think it looks like a giant flying bus.

Chinooks are used primarily for trooping and for load carrying (both internal and underslung) and can carry up to 54 troops or 10 tons of freight. The cabin is large enough to accommodate two Land Rovers, while the three underslung load hooks allow a huge flexibility in the type and number of loads that can be carried. Secondary roles include Search and Rescue and Casualty Evacuation (a total of 24 stretchers can be carried). The minimum crew consists of two pilots, and a flight engineer. The aircraft can be armed with two M-134 six-barrelled Miniguns and an M-60 machine gun.

Pretty exciting! Jimmy also had to put in a wish list of places we would like to go....not that it means anything but we put Germany, Hawaii, and Alaska. Hee hee...probably a fat chance but we'll see! The places that we could eventually end up are: Hawaii, Honduras, Germany, Korea, Fort Riley-Kansas, Fort Hood-Texas, Fort Drum-New York, Fort Bragg-North Carolina, Alaska, Fort Campbell-Kentucky, or Savannah-Georgia.

The hold for the Chinook course is about two months right now so we figure we will probably be at Fort Rucker until October or November...but you never know!

OOPSIE! Don't follow my background instructions!!

Hee Hee...just kidding. Don't follow my background changing instructions. There's more to it than I thought because Nikki did it for me the first time...so as to not confuse anyone anymore I erased the entry. I'm so sneaky. Just call me and I will copy and paste the format from mine to yours and then you can edit it from there.

SORRY!

22 weeks and counting....

My sister wanted me to more frequently post pictures of my growing self. So here I am at 22 weeks or just over 5 months.

As for the pregnancy update. This is what's happening:
Morning sickness did not pass at 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks and is still going strong at 22 weeks. I am throwing up more now than I ever did in the first trimester. I'm one of those lucky ones.
Our baby girl is moving around like crazy. It has been so fun to feel her. She still isn't kicking around hard enough for Jimmy to feel but that will come soon.
Bacon still sounds good on everything and it tastes even better. My appetite comes and goes but now I am dreaming about food. I had a dream about a chili dog the other night and couldn't get it out of my head until I ate one. Poor Jimmy. We made a late night run to KFC and after I enjoyed it and satisfied my craving it all came up and went down the toilet.
My legs fall asleep and I feel like I have to be constantly in motion.
I can sleep like no other. The puppies join me on a regular occasion.

We have bought some clothes and a swing...here's the proud Papa putting it together...

We are really enjoying pregnancy. Despite the sickness it has been wonderful and is becoming more and more real to us as my belly gets bigger and bigger. I have decided it might be time to invest in some maternity clothes, especially for church. Today I had to wear a shirt long enough to cover the zipper on my skirt because it was completely unzipped...won't go up...big belly syndrome.

Ahh....and finally to the big project. The reason I call it the big project is because any of you who know me well know that I have convinced myself that I can't sew. It's a shame seeing as how I have a mother who is a master seamstress. She tried to teach me but I resisted and now I regret it. Anyway. I decided that I wanted to make the bedding for our crib and with a lot of help and guidance and know how and all of the above from Nikki and Katie...here it is. Isn't it so cute! It's not finished but I couldn't wait. I am so excited about it. The next time you see it will be on the crib. Oh I just love it!

This is the outside of the bumper

The inside of the bumper.

The blanket. I just have to finsh these up and do the bed skirt and walla! It has been so fun and hey mom I can sew! Or I can kind of sew!

The Drive-In Rocks!

Jimmy and I are movie-aholics. We go to movies, watch movies we have, or rent movies just about every weekend. We love the drive-in! We have been to the local drive-in a ton of times rain and shine. Tonight we went and our car died. Hee hee. We tried to turn the heater on after the first movie and it wouldn't start. After trying to stop another movie goer on his trip back from the bathroom to ask if they had any jumper cables we were told that the drive-in had a battery charger. We used it twice tonight. Ha, I think it's so funny. Half way through the second movie our car died. I think we might need to replace the battery? eh?

I have officially been a stay at homer for a week now. My puppies are starting to think that I have decided to stay at home to cater to their every need. It's amazing to me how needy these little stinkers are. I can't go anywhere or do anything without them wanting my attention, sitting on my lap, wanting me to play with them, bugging me until I rub their bellies....I guess this is good preparation for a baby huh?

I have asked quite a few of you this question but I figured I would put it on our blog so I could get even more input. We are getting ready to buy baby stuff and it's so hard to know what to buy. So here are my questions:

What can you not live without? What are the things that you have that are absolutely necessary? What has made your life easier?

Convertible crib?

Car seats? Any suggestions? Brand? Travel System?

Jogger?

Any suggestions, ideas, input would be greatly appreciated. By the way thank you for the book suggestions....I have a list to get me started and I am excited.

I quit my job on Monday. It was not planned and actually very unexpected and unpleasant. It's a long story, one that still leaves me confused. For the sake of trying to be postive about the whole experience I will just leave it at this...my work environment no longer was an environment that was healthy for me especially while I'm pregnant and I felt it was best for me to get out of it immediately given the circumstances at that time. Jimmy and I feel really good about my decision and there is no doubt that it was the right thing to do. It makes me sad that it had to happen the way that it did though. So...here's to moving on. I most likely will not look for anything new. I was planning on leaving in May to have some time to get ready for the baby....but we'll see. I'm not really sure what to do with myself....so I clean and hopefully one of these days that will run out. ha ha. I have a feeling that is very unlikely.

19 Weeks

I have had several requests for a picture of my growing belly so here it is. (disclaimer...I really wasn't wearing this outfit...I was in the middle of changing and realized that the shirt I had on showed my belly really well.) It's really starting to pop out now. I have even felt her move a little bit....I think. Ha ha. I'm not really sure what it's supposed to feel like but I always feel it and I'm pretty sure it's her. We've started buying little person clothes and it has just been so much fun!
