Ko O'lina with Grandma Terri

Grandma Terri came to visit and we had so much FUN while she was here.
This was the first time that my mom visited that I haven't been pregnant or barely given
birth.  It was nice to have the energy to be able to go out and play and do things.

We headed over to Ko O'lina to show her the sea turtles that live there.
My mom's legs are not blue...ha ha, we laughed when we were looking at pictures and have
determined that while my mom's legs do need to see more light of day, the sunscreen she is wearing
casts a blue light in the sun.

Bellows Half Way Home Celebration

Jimmy's Batalion hosted a half way home celebration
for the families of the soldiers who are deployed to Afghanistan.

We went out to support them and the kids had a really great time!
We played and played and played!

Jimmy took Lucas on this fun slip n' slide thing...Lucas wasn't so sure about the idea...

Ha, it was a one time thing...Madeline watched very closely...and decided she would rather not try it.
The egg relay..

Face painting...
We had a great time!

The BIG 33!

I turned 33 this year.
I had a wonderful birthday.
My sweet husband is truly so thoughtful and he does things for me that
aren't necessarily in his comfort zone...like making me a cheesecake or
shopping for clothes...because he loves me and knows how  much it means to me.

Lucas was really excited to help make the cheesecake.
It was super delicious and so pretty!
Throughout the day some friends did such nice things for me, I really felt loved.
That night our friends the Harker's watched our kids for us so we could go to dinner
and a movie.  Morgan even supplied us with movie candy.

I really wanted some PF Changs so we attempted to make it there but
with crazy Honolulu traffic we changed our plans and went to a movie and
then to Bucca di Beppo.
It was so fun and so nice to spend time with my Jimmy.

I have never really felt old on a birthday before, but this year I did!  I'm not sure why.  It wasn't really a fun feeling.  I am pretty sure it had something to do with the mom haircut that I just got.  (SOB) Or...the fact that my post pregnancy body is still quite post pregnancy.  Ha ha, both things I can laugh at for the most part.  Maybe it is the simple fact that I am so much more mature these days...ha ha,  maybe not.  I don't know what it was but despite how I felt turning 33 I can honestly say that I feel young at heart and that at 33 I can't imagine my life any happier.
I feel so blessed.  I have the most AMAZING husband who truly loves me for who I am and who supports me in EVERYTHING I do.  I have three little angels who bring a completeness to my life.  I feel so thankful to belong to such a
sweet little family and so thankful that we are working together towards something wonderful. I am truly blessed.

Another Outing to the Zoo

We spent another day at the zoo with our friends.

We found a frog at the zoo on this trip.
He was a wild animal, out of his cage.  The kids thought it was so COOL!
They acutally almost stepped on him while looking at the crocodile.

Madeline discovered that she LOVES to climb trees,
and that she is really good at it.

4th of July 2012

We had a great 4th of July.
The day started with Jimmy playing the annual game of
fourth of July flag football with the guys from our ward.

Afterwards, we headed over to our friends the Mouritsen's for a
BBQ.  We were joined by the Peraltas, Yates, Aphonephongs, and Harkers.
We ate lots of patriotic food and the kids played for a while.

They had a lot of fun with the sidewalk chalk.
Madeline was covered in a matter of seconds.
I think she looked SO  CUTE!
So very patriotic.

My handsome boys.

Jonas getting in on the sidewalk chalk too.

After the BBQ we headed up to Schofield Barracks for the carnival, concerts and fireworks.
It was AWESOME.

Madeline, Lucas, Edge & Ridge

So, we lost Lucas twice in this ginormous crowd of thousands of people.
I think next year I will put my children on leashes...seriously.
I had two heart attacks and don't think I can handle anymore.
The first time we were talking to a lady over at the pony rides and he was standing right next to me.
Next thing I know he has wandered off and I could not find him anywhere.  I started running around
screaming frantically "LUCAS!!"  Madeline was holding my hand laughing and saying,  "Mommy you are being so loud."
I tried to keep calm and say a prayer that we would find him and I tried to listen to know where to look but I was FRANTIC.
I was scared and worried.
FINALLY after what seemed like FOREVER I saw him with our friend Joe Harker.  Joe spotted him
with another couple and told them that he knew where Lucas belonged and would return him to his parents.
I was so RELIEVED and THANKFUL...seriously, I was frantic and crying.

The SECOND time we were all sitting down getting ready to watch the fireworks.  It was dark.
The kids were all running around in a circle.  I was feeding Jonas and would look up periodically to make sure I could
see my kids.  Then one time I looked up and Lucas was gone.  AGAIN!  All of the adults spread out and thankfully
he was found...way off to the side of where we were sitting.
He has officially entered the age of wandering.
I just wish he would have chosen a different venue to do so.
I am also  super relieved that he is safe and sound...
I mean look at this face....
Love his boy.
We ate shave ice and patriotic popcorn while we waited for the firework show.
See those clouds in the background?  They rained on us last year and
we were hoping they would pass us by this year.
And they did....

While we waited....

Listened to Hoobastank and Jack's Manequin

Got all snuggly....

And then just as the fireworks started it poured on us.
We were thankful for the giant sportbrella a friend brought.
We all crowded under it and enjoyed the awesome show.
