Thanksgiving in Utah

We had a wonderful thanksgiving and we just want our families to know how thankful we are for them. We feel so blessed. Here's the mushy part of the blog...I like thanksgiving because it helps me to take time out to remember or recognize all of my blessings. This past year I feel like I have recieved an abundance of blessings. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband, for the opportunity that we are going to have to be parents, for our wonderful families, for the gospel, for our puppies, for our friends...the list goes on. We are so blessed. Not too mushy eh?

On to what we did this Thanksgiving....

We went to Utah to spend Thanksgiving with our families. It was absolutely wonderful. We had a whirlwind trip but loved every minute of it. Seeing everyone reminded us just how much we miss you all. We still can't believe how much our nieces and nephews have grown in 6 months!

Marie Callendars catered our Thanksgiving dinner. We ate with the Isakson's at Liz and Alex's house. I will have to admit that I was a little skeptical about how good Marie Callendars could be on Thanksgiving but it was absolutely delicious! Not to mention the super yummy rolls that Becky made and the pies that Greg made. Mmmm!!!

We were also able to go by and see my family Thanksgiving night. I snuck some of my Grandma White's cheese turkey...it was as good as ever!

Me, Jimmy, my Momma, and Natalie all woke up for Black Friday shopping. I wasn't sure after the day of traveling and no sleep if I would be up for it...but we couldn't resist. We headed out at 4:30 and waited in the warm car for the doors to open. We got in and grabbed what we needed and got out. People are nuts! We managed to get all of our christmas shopping done in just under 2 hours! Hooray for us!

We love you all and can't wait to come back and see you again!

Strange....

A few months ago I was outside at night and glanced up at my rooftop and saw what appeared to be snow?! Strange I thought.... I looked more closely and still it looked like snow. It was white and all shimmery in the light....that doesn't make sense I thought. Snow? On my roof? In 80 degree weather? hmmmm.... and then I didn't think about it anymore....(do you hate my ... yet? these are my thinking ....) anyway, Jimmy came in one night and told me that we had soap suds coming out of a pipe on our roof. Soap on the roof? That's strange, but it did explain my snow. Today as I was leaving I looked up at the roof and sure enough there were soap suds pouring out of this pipe on our roof. The pipe is somehow hooked to the washer....is this normal? It seems so strange to me.

BLAAAH!

I threw up today. Yep. I have felt like throwing up everyday for the past 2 months but today I really did it. It was horrible. Yep, horrible. I had to share because for some reason I feel like this is a monumental moment. Not really I'm just bored at work with not a whole lot to do. I was going to leave early from work because I don't feel great at all but when I went out to start my car...it was dead. I left the lights on. Now I'm just waiting for Jimmy to come and rescue me. What a day.

speaking of peanuts....

We went to the Peanut Festival in Dothan. It's kind of like a giant state fair. They had rides (not to mention pretty much every good ride at Lagoon was there for a small price of 4 bucks a ride! Can you say rip off!!) We didn't ride any of them but that was mostly because we don't want a scrambled baby. They also had a demolition derby but we missed that....so pretty much we went for the food.
Jimmy went with one purpose and that was to taste a fried twinkie. (eeew!) In my personal unbiased opinon, Twinkies are gross in the first place and to fry it well that's just disgusting. It wasn't as bad as I had imagined it to be and Jimmy enjoyed it so that is all that matters. We also ate red hotdogs (I know..red?) and caramel apples and then we left. It was really fun.

Here is the famous fried twinkie and Jimmy eating one sideways (what talent!) I forgot to fix that before adding it in here and I refuse to do it over! refuse!

Peanut Update

We had our second baby appointment yesterday. We were able to hear the heart beating again. Yahoo. I think that is my favorite part. The nurse that was doing it said, "Now don't panic if I can't find it right away; sometimes it's hard because the baby is so small." Well right when she put that thing to my belly the heart started beating and the baby was moving around like crazy. She had to keep chasing after little peanut. It was wonderful. Here's a shocker the heart rate was 170 beats per minute this visit...way up from the 130 last time. Boy or girl? Eh? Guess we'll have to wait until January to find out. I bought my first pair of maternity pants too...hee hee they're really cute.

I've Been Tagged!

My friend Nikki tagged me so that means I get to tell you 6 things about myself not to be limited to habits, deep dark secrets, and so on. If I tag you...well, you get to do the same. This is great for days when you are at work with nothing to do.

1. I love to write. I love to keep a journal or write poems or random thoughts. It helps me put everthing into perspective and gives me a chance to stop and breathe. I haven't taken enough time to do this in the past few months...and I really need to get back on track. I have written some quality stuff I tell ya! ha ha.

2. I like to play practical jokes. I think it's funny. I only like to do it to people who I know will laugh...I have had a few bad experiences and did not get the enjoyment that I expected. In college we (me and my roommates) would sneak into apartments (of people we knew, who probably previously played a joke on us or were really asking for it) and superglue their food to the shelves in their pantry or other fun things like that.

3. There is a room in our house that looks like a tornado hit it and continues to hit it. The door is never open and when it is opened it is quickly closed. Call it laziness, call it a matter of being extremely unorganized, or just call it what you want...you will never see it so you will never really know how bad it is. I have plans to bring in the clean-up crew and get it all put in it's place...however, those plans are still in the works. It will be cleaned before baby comes because it will be our new guest room...yes we will have a guest room.

4. I like to pull ugly faces. It's a habit. Sometimes I do it without even noticing. It has become even more of a habit because Jimmy thinks it's funny and I love to hear him laugh. He really thinks it's funny when I pull and ugly face and use an ugly voice to go along with it. I am truly a natural ugly. Just ask Jimmy about "the picture."

5. I like to leave dumb messages on voicemail. I like to pretend like I am someone that I am not and say stupid things. Most of the time I think I am really funny....definitely not annoying...just funny. Yes I am one of those people who laughs at their own jokes...I can't help it sometimes I am just so stinkin' funny.

6. I love to cook. Who would have thought? (except for the past few months...every smell makes me want to puke!) Sewing is even looking tempting now. My mother is shocked! I love to try new recipes and have only cried once when one didn't turn out...I really had my heart set on it. Ha ha. It took Jimmy and moving to Alabama to domesticate me...slowly it is happening.

sick...but for a good cause

I am so sick. I'm at work right now with nothing to do and all I can think about is how sick I feel. That's terrible and knowing what I am sick for it makes it all worth it....but I can't help but count down to the end of the first trimester and hope hope hope that the sick feeling quietly or suddenly goes away. Anyone have any suggestions? So far I have tried lemon drops, lemon juice, orange juice, gingerale, crackers, crackers, crackers, eating all the time, milk, chocolate milk, exercise, and sleep. Sleep is the only thing that genuinely works because well...I'm asleep. Jimmy told me that he had read a section in the pregnancy book we have that says husbands can gain weight, get morning sickness and even go into labor...ha I love him. Then right after it says if this happens you should seek professional advice. hee hee. Alright alright..just say it...Suck it up Missy you're pregnant and it comes with the territory. I can accept that. I feel much better now. Thank you for listening.

Boobers

A few months ago we bought a giant new bed for the pups and within the first few days Ashes peed on it and Boo and Ashes chewed the zipper off of it. It is now a giant pee stained bed with a giant opening. We knew that Boo was secretly using it as a sleeping bag but could never catch him in the act...until now. Jimmy caught Boo climbing into the bed. He sure is funny. Here is our talented little Boobers:
